Ocean City's Endless Summer Cruisin

Ocean City, Maryland, is renowned for its vibrant car culture, and each October, the town hosts the highly anticipated Endless Summer Cruisin' event that celebrates classic cars, hot rods, and custom vehicles. In 2024, the 27th Annual Endless Summer Cruisin' took place from October 10th to 13th, drawing over 3,200 vehicles from more than 22 states, including as far west as California and as far south as Florida. The epicenter of the event was the Inlet Parking lot with activities at the OC Convention Center on 40th Street as well as businesses around town.

During the event, Ocean City and Worcester County roads were designated as a Special Event Zone, with reduced speed limits and increased fines to ensure safety. Additionally, a noise ordinance prohibited loud vehicle noise audible from 50 feet away. Participants parking trailers on city streets were required to obtain a trailer parking permit.

Endless Summer Cruisin' continues to be a cornerstone event in Ocean City's calendar, celebrating automotive culture and bringing together car lovers from across the nation.

Highlights

Boardwalk Parades:

A highlight of the event was the daily Boardwalk Parades, where participants drove their classic and custom vehicles along the historic Ocean City boardwalk. These parades featured a diverse lineup of cars, including hot rods, muscle cars, and vintage classics, offering spectators a rolling display of automotive history.

Participant Stories:

Among the participants was Brad Harbold from Port Deposit, Maryland, who received the Mayor’s Prestigious Award for his meticulously restored 1955 Cadillac. Another notable participant, George Kemp from Finksburg, Maryland, was honored with the Thunder Road Cup for his 1949 Mercury, recognized for its exceptional craftsmanship and design.

Car Shows and Vendors:

The event featured car shows at the Inlet Parking Lot and the Ocean City Convention Center, with additional displays at various local businesses. Attendees enjoyed a diverse array of vehicles, from hot rods to classic cars, along with vendors offering automotive merchandise, arts and crafts, and more.

Celebrity Appearances:

Cristy Lee, known for hosting "Steal This House" on HGTV and co-hosting "Garage Squad" on MotorTrend, met fans on October 11th and 12th. Todd Bridges, famed for his role in "Diff’rent Strokes," appeared from October 10th to 12th, engaging with attendees and fellow car enthusiasts.

Live Entertainment:

"Sun Records Live! The Concert" took the stage on October 10th, delivering performances of classics like "Great Balls of Fire" and "Hound Dog," celebrating legends such as Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash.
