The festivities began at 3pm once the Market Square Party Zone opened. There, staff started serving “Hurricanes” made from Thrasher’s Rum.
The parade began marching along Wharf Street at 3:30 pm, next to the water, and ended at Parker Row, near Hell’s Kitchen.
With walkers, jugglers, floats and the Mardi Gras King and Queen, the parade featured special performances from the Eastern High School Marching Band, Batalá Washington, amd The Experience Band & Show. In honor of the New Orleans tradition, visitors were encouraged to wear their best purple, green and gold outfits and get festive with feathers and sparkles.
A fireworks show lit up the night sky at 6:30 pm for the grand finale!
